As many of you I was very confused by Amazon Web Services EC2 Pricing and it took me some time to figure it out so I’m putting it here to remind myself next time =)

Heavy Utilization Reserved Instances

Small (Default):

$195 $0.016 per Hour = $335.16/year ($1,005.48/ 3years)

$300 $0.013 per Hour = $641.64/ 3years

Medium Utilization Reserved Instances

Small (Default)

$160 $0.024 per Hour = $370.24/year ($1,110.72/3years)

$250 $0.019 per Hour = $749.32/ 3years

Light Utilization Reserved Instances

Small (Default)

$69 $0.039 per Hour = $410.64/year ($1,232.92/ 3years)

$106.30 $0.031 per Hour = $920.98/ 3years

Standard On-Demand Instances

Small (Default)

$0.065 per Hour = $569.4/year ($1,708.2/ 3 years)

M1 Small Instance (Default) 1.7 GiB of memory, 1 EC2 Compute Unit (1 virtual core with 1 EC2 Compute Unit), 160 GB of local instance storage, 32-bit or 64-bit platform
